Life changed quickly after I decided to reveal myself to him, the past few weeks almost feeling like a blur as we moved rapidly to prepare for our future together. Sitting in the boat beside him as we traveled to the land of my tribe, it all felt so surreal as if it were all a dream, yet I had to remind myself that what was happening was real, a reality in which Brandon, despite my reservations and fears knowing how much he clung to his old life and the likelihood of abandoning my dreams for his, willingly accepted my desire to take this journey with me and leave our old life behind. There was a joy, a euphoria and excitement I had never felt before in such a visceral way as the prospects of our shared future, a dream that once seemed so distant and unreachable, was drawing near and finally within our grasp. And yet, there was also an anxiety, even a fear, of what lay in store for us when I presented this stranger to my people, countless unknowns and risks that threaten to unravel
